IMPHAL, Dec 2: Thambal Campaign was launched today at Khundrakpam Assembly Constituency organised by the BJP Election Committee.
The campaign was launched in a programme held at the residence of the BJP intending candidate from Khundrakpam AC, Irom Mangiton at Waiton Awang Leikai.
The programme was attended by the former president of BJP Manipur Pradesh M Bhorot and Core Committee member of BJP Manipur Pradesh, Yanglet Haokip as the presidium members among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Irom Mangiton stated that the Khundrakpam AC is still living in the pre-independent era though India has achieved independence years ago.
Enumerating the numerous problems faced by the people of the constituency, he said that most of the residents  do not have access to drinking water and proper medical facilities.
Even the roads and bridges are also in a bad shape, he added.
He expressed concern that none of the MLAs of the AC have become a Cabinet Minister and alleged that the MLAs have not worked earnestly for the development of the constituency which is really unfortunate.
Further he appealed to the public to elect a representative who is a native of Khundrakpam AC and who will strive for the upliftment of the constituency selflessly.
