Apna Dal (S), State unit eyes minimum 10 seats

IMPHAL, Dec 2 : The Apna Dal (Sonelal), Manipur Pradesh has been considering to field not less than 30 candidates in the ensuing 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
A felicitation ceremony in honour of eight politicians including RK Suraj Singh, son of former Chief Minister RK Dorendro from Yaiskul who joined Apna Dal (S) was held today at Old Lambulane. The other seven are Janab Md Jalaluddin from Keirao AC; Md Najiruddin from Thou-bal AC; Janab Aslam Khan from Lilong AC; M Surjit Singh from Khurai AC; Mamtaz Bibi from Kshe-trigao  AC; Md Wahidur Rahman from Lilong AC and Md Abdul Helim from Keirao AC.
At the ceremony, president of Apna Dal (S), K Manoranjan Singh appointed RK Suraj Singh as the party's spokesperson.
A cup and saucer which is the  symbol of the Apna Dal (S) was also presented to each of the new members.
Speaking at the occasion, K Manoranjan stated that the State unit of Apna Dal (S) was established in September this year.
Saying that the party is eyeing to win at least 10 seats in the Assembly election, he added that the party would play a key role in the formation of a new BJP Government.
K Manoranjan further stated that  the party will not give its tickets to  those who didn't clear matric examination.
"Graduates can apply for the party tickets," he informed.
Continuing that Apna Dal (S) emphasis on curbing corruption,  empowering women and minorities and promoting technical education,  Manoranjan maintained that developing agro-based industries is also imperative for the State to prosper.
RK Suraj , who is intending to contest the election from Yaiskul AC, said that he joined Apna Dal (S) by putting faith in the ideology of the party.
