TPR rises to 2.2 pc, one more succumbs

IMPHAL, Dec 2: The State’s daily positivity rate or TPR has risen to 2.2 per cent from yesterday’s 1.6 per cent as 33 people were confirmed positive at different testing centres out of 1,476 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours.
In the meantime, one individual belonging to Imphal East district succumbed to the pandemic as per a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee.
The victim had co-morbidities and was not vaccinated.
The State’s Covid-19 death toll has risen to 1979.
The 33 persons who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East (14), Imphal West (13), Bishnupur (3), Churachand-pur (1), Senapati (1) and Ukhrul (1).
Imphal East district recorded the highest positivity rate at 4.7 per cent followed by Bishnupur 3.3 per cent and Imphal West 2.8 per cent.
According to a bulletin issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 28 persons who were undergoing treatment for Covid-19 at JNIMS (8), home isolation (7) and CCCs (13) had been discharged following recovery.
There are still 663 active cases in the State against the cumulative figure of 1,25,269 positive cases (general population 1,20,838 and Central security personnel 4,431).
It includes 1,22,627 recovered cases (general population 1,18,265 and Central security personnel 4,326). The recovery rate stands at 97.89 per cent.
A total of 754 D-type oxygen cylinder and 212 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday, said the bulletin.
Taking into account 8321 doses administered on December 1, the cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 21,68,185  (first dose 12,84,653 and second dose 8,83,532).
Till December 1, 65.26 per cent of the State’s total population has been given the first dose of Covid vaccine while 44.88 per cent has received both the first and second doses.
