Administrative cum faculty block of PDDUIAS inaugurated

IMPHAL, Dec 3: The administrative cum faculty block of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Institute of Agricultural Sciences (PDDUIAS) was inaugurated by Professor N Lokendra, Vice Chancellor of Manipur University (MU) today.
The event was graced by Professor N Lokendra, Chairman of PDDUIAS and former Minister, Th Chaoba, Member Secretary cum Director of the institute, Dr RK Imotomba and Registrar, MU, W Chandbabu as the presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Lokendra appealed to all concerned of PDDUIAS to make efforts to receive upgraded status from UGC inorder to avail regular financial assistance from Central Government.
He further assured of extending all possible help from Manipur University to for the upliftment of the institute.
The VC also expressed belief that a healthy change will be experienced in the higher education sector once the National Education Policy (NEP), 2021 is fully implemented.
Addressing the gathering, Th Chaoba said that agriculture and allied activities will become the backbone of the State's economy.
With an aim to aid the economy and to uplift the agricultural sectors in the State, many agricultural courses starting from intermediate level are being opened at PDDUIAS and in the larger interest of the students of the State.
Also a “Handbook of Banana found in Manipur” written by Dr Atom Anupama was released today.
