La Ganesan visits Jiribam

JIRIBAM, Dec 3 : Governor La Ganesan paid a maiden visit to Jiribam today and attended an interaction programme organised by district administration, Jiribam.
The Governor was received by Jiribam DC W Malemnganba and Vice Chairman of Manipur Food Industries Corporation Limited K Sarat Kumar at the helipad at Harinagar.  
While interacting with the representatives of CSOs and District Level Officers at District Police Multipurpose Hall,   the Governor congratulated the people of the district on achieving 100 percent vaccination for COVID-19.
He also stressed on the dangers of the new variant of Covid ‘Omicron’ which was detected in Karnataka.
The Governor then appealed to the members present to maintain cleanliness and cooperate with one another to keep the district ‘clean and green’.
Further lauding the district on achieving 88 percent literacy rate with ‘no report of insurgency’, the Governor stated that Jiribam is the cleanest town in  North East India.
He urged the people of the district to avail the benefits of schemes like Van Dhan Yojana.
“Please visit your district level officers and get details of the various schemes to develop the district and the State as a whole”, he added.
The Governor also responded to the queries raised by  the civil society leaders during the interaction session.
Reportedly, the CSOs submitted a memorandum to the Governor to establish a better health care facility and improve the infrastructure of the district.
