IW 3rd Divn League : KALYC book last four round berth with 2-1 win over YAC

IMPHAL, Dec 3 : KALYC, Karam managed another 2-1 win to finish Group D leaders in the 4th Mani Sharma Memorial 3rd Division Football League and earn the semi-final berth.
KALYC, who had beaten KSYC, Hiyangthang in the previous match, were ahead of YAC, Yurembam in the 29th minute thanks to Kh Chinglensana here at PAMYAL ground in Patsoi only to be equalised in the first minute of the added time before the break via N Henary.
W Khwainganba however made sure that KALYC retained the lead in the 55th minute and sealed the game 2-1.
Earlier, in a Group A league match, WAFA, Wangoi edged past ESA, Mayang Imphal 2-1 to move closer to finishing group winners.
Both teams had a cautious outing and kept the competition wide open till the break. WAFA, however, raced ahead in the 50th minute with Jackson finding the back of the ESA net before Montecarlo doubled the advantage in the 68th minute.
W Alex pulled back a goal for ESA in the 79th minute, but it was too late for the team to draw level and eventually handed WAFA the second win of the tournament.
On November 6, unbeaten WAFA will meet Imphal United, Sekmai and GYC, Ghari will play ESA, Mayang Imphal in their last league matches.
In an inconsequential Group C league match, KRYPHSA, Naoremthong rode a double by Md Nawaz (24', 80+1') to ease to a 5-0 win over MSH, Uripok.
Md Nawaz drew first blood in the 24th minute after their previous attempts failed to materialise and M Dev doubled the advantage with his fine strike right before the breather (40th minute).
To MSH's disappointment, Robinson conceded an own goal in the 50th minute as KRYPHSA continued to press for more goals handing the latter team a 3-0 lead.
Md Nawaz was at the target yet again in the 74th minute before M Wanglen scored a stoppage time goal to seal the game 5-0 in KRYPHSA's favour.
From Group C, USC, Phayeng who have registered a 2-1 win over KRYPHSA, Naoremthong and 8-0 win over MSH, Uripok have already qualified for the semi-finals.
