State Level Volleyball TournamentMRC emerge mini-boys' champions, NYVA, SSC claim junior boys and girls titles

IMPHAL, Dec 3 : MRC, Mairenkhong claimed the title of the 20th Mini Boys State Level Volleyball Tournament as Senapati Sporting Club (SSC) and NYVA-Naorem were crowned champions of the 41st Junior Boys and Girls State Level Volleyball Tournament today at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
In the mini boys' final, MRC defeated USWC, Uchiwa in straight sets (25-19, 25-17, 25-16) to claim the top honour.
Meanwhile, SSC beat KAYO, Kangpokpi 25-17, 25-16, 25-20 for the junior girls title.
NYVA, on the other hand, sealed a hard fought 23-25, 25-13, 25-15, 25-18 win over TRYVC, Ukhrul to take home the junior boys title.
Earlier, TRYVC overcame UC, 25-22, 27-25, 25-23 in a keenly contested semi-final match to book the final berth while NYVA beat HYDO, Heigrujam 25-18, 25-21, 25-14 to confirm their final ticket.
UC had outlasted USWC, Uchiwa 25-22, 22-25, 25-20, 26-24 in the quarter final match staged earlier today to move into semi-finals.
The 4th Senior Women's State Level Volleyball Tournament participated by 6 teams clubbed into two groups kicked off today.
UNT, Top Siphai sealed a 25-13, 25-21 win over MPSC to open up the tournament and the Group B competition before MPSC bounced back to beat PYC, Paraolon 25-22, 26-24 in a neck and neck competition.
Meanwhile, SSC, Senapati kicked off their Group (A) campaign with a 23-25, 25-20, 15-4 win over NSUVC, Imphal .
The 20th Sub-Junior Boys State Level Volleyball Tournament also commenced today with 12 teams clubbed into four groups taking part in it.
In the Group A opener, NYVA, Naorem beat AMIMYDO 25-14, 25-20 before KYLSC, Kachikhul downed PRSC, Pourabi 25-16, 25-23 in a Group C league match and HVA, Heigrujam edged past SEWA, Nachou 26-28, 25-18, 15-10.
