State Open Badminton ChampionshipStage set for U-15 girls singles semi-finals

IMPHAL, Dec 3 : The semi-final line up of the U-15 girls singles competition in the ongoing 65th State Open Badminton Championship was completed today.
Moving first into the semi-finals of the said competition staged at Manipur Badminton Association indoor stadium, DM College Campus was Konsam Gunjan who outlasted M Rebika 21-14, 21-6 in an all Imphal East quarter final match.
In another all-Imphal East quarter final match, Laishram Nandita prevailed 21-3, 21-4 over RK Irina to earn herself a semi-final slot.
In the third quarter final match, Leonie Tayenjam of Imphal West beat Senjam Supriya of Imphal East 21-6, 21-4 and Moirangthem Devika Devi of Bishnupur beat A Lanchenbi of Imphal East 21-17, 21-8 to complete the semi-final line up.
U-13 Girls singles
The day also saw completion of quarter final line up of the U-13 girls singles competition.
Leonie, who eased herself to the U-15 singles semis, also made it through to the quarter finals of the U-13 girls competition beating W Salini of Thoubal 21-5, 21-2 in a pre-quarter final clash today.
Laishram Nandita also entered the semis with a 21-11, 21-11 win over Naorem Santanu of Imphal West.
In the third last 16 round clash, Roselinda Thangjam of Imphal West saw off A Devika 21-10, 21-17.
In the other pre-quarter final matches, Chanulembi Sapam beat M Rebika 14-21, 21-18, 21-17; Ch Bellarix beat Kimkim Khongsai 21-17, 21-13; Singam Supriya beat Shayashree Maibam 21-11, 21-5; A Lanchenbi beat Johanna Ksh 21-6, 21-1 and Jianna Lairenlakpam outlasted Sanjenbam Tanushri 21-8, 21-12.
U-19 Boys Doubles
Borish Salam and M Rishi made it through the semi finals of the U-19 boys doubles competition today with a 21-15, 21-16 win over Jogendra Kh and Kingson Thono.
In the second last 8 round match, the pair of Borish Salam and M Rishi saw off L Lanngamba and T Dingku Singh 21-16, 22-20.
Thoubal pair Kh Bidyachandra and Saikhom Gung also earned their places in the semi-finals edging out the Imphal West pair of Konsam Sandip Singh and T Bonson Singh 21-15, 12-21, 21-18 before Ch Vikson and Ronald RK completed the line up with a 21-14, 21-15 win over Ningthoujam Saimond and Th Ronel duo.
