IMPHAL, Dec 3
The Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) has verified altogether 1,115 non-locals during its drive from November 18 to December 2.
A press release issued by JCILPS said that of the 1,115 non-locals verified, as many as 610 were found  not possessing any permits to stay in Manipur while 400 others produced only tokens. The remaining 105 non- locals produced forms to  take ILP passes from concerned Deputy Commi- ssioners, it added.
Asking why the State Government has not taken up any action against the non-locals staying in Mani-pur illegally under Section 20 of the ILP regulation, the JCILPS questioned if the Government is enforcing the Inner Line Permit System or not. Continuing that their movement is not anti-Indian or anti-Mayang, the JCILPS appealed to  all to respect the rule and regulation of ILP.
Meanwhile, the JCILPS has appointed AMSU president Haobijam Chalamba as its convenor.
