State Open Badminton ChampionshipNg Yaiphaba wins U-9 boys singles title

IMPHAL, Dec 4 : Ng Yaiphaba of Jiribam clinched the U-9 boys singles title in the 65th State Open Badminton Championship being organised by Manipur Badminton Association at Indoor Stadium, DM College Campus.
In the final, Ng Yaiphaba faced a stiff challenge from Th Yangba of Imphal East and lost the first set before clawing back into the game and sealed a 12-21, 22-20, 21-17 win to claim the title.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Yaiphaba ousted L Loyangamba of Imphal East 23-21, 22-20 in a closely contested match before Th Yangba edged out Ch Netcover of Imphal West 19-21, 21-19, 21-18.
Ksh Maheshwari vs Priya Konjengbam for women's singles crown
The day also saw Ksh Maheshwari of Imphal East and Priya Konjengbam of Bishnupur making it to the women's singles final.
Maheshwari outlasted H Vilinda of Imphal West 21-14, 20-22, 21-10 to book the final berth before Priya made the easy work of N Angita of Imphal West 21-11, 21-5 to set up the final date with Maheshwari.
Women's doubles
N Purnima (Kak) and Priya Kongjengbam (Bpr) pair will take on Kh Roshni (Bpr) and N Angita (IW) for the women's doubles crown of the tournament.
In the semi-finals, N Purnima (Kak) and Priya Kongjengbam (Bpr) saw off IW duo Prity Naorem  and Wairokpam Seevani 21-5, 21-2 with ease while Kh Roshni (Bpr) and N Angita (IW) outlasted K Vunghoimawi (IW) and Ngaivenkim Ngaite (CDBA) 21-17, 21-17.
Konsam Gunjan vs Leonie Tayenjam in Girls U-15 ultimate clash
Konsam Gunjan of Imphal East will lock horns with Leonie Tayenjam of Imphal West in the U-15 girls singles final.
Gunjan had her way to the final beating Moirangthem Devika of Bpr 21-6, 21-14 in the first semi-final match today before Leonie got the better of Laishram Nandita of Imphal East 21-16, 21-15.
U-11 boys singles
The final line up of the U-11 boys singles was completed today with Rishav Ngangom of Bpr beating M Rustum of Imphal East 21-7, 21-6 and S Pinibash Meitei of Thoubal beating L Nongdamba of Imphal West 21-19, 21-9 in the semi-final matches staged today.
Sushanta Moirangthem vs Kyoveio Vemai in U-13 boys singles final
Sushanta Moirangthem of Kakching will be up against Kyoveio Vemai of Senapati in the U-13 boys singles final.
Sushanta booked the final berth today beating Kalo Truman of Senapati 21-8, 21-11 in a semi-final match while Kyoveio completed the line up with a 21-12, 21-14 win over M Bhairav of Bpr in the other semi-final match.
M Malemnganba vs Sirzeet M in Boys U-19 singles final
M Malemnganba of Bpr will take on Sirzeet M of IE in the boys U-19 singles final as they registered comfortable wins against their rivals in today's semi-final matches.
Malemnganba knocked Jomi Singam of Imphal East out with a 21-19, 21-13 win in a semi-final match while Sirzeet sealed a 21-7, 21-15 win over Ch Ritesh of Imphal West in the other semi-final contest to confirm his final ticket.
Bishnupur's H Rohenkumar, H Malemnganba in Boys U-17 singles title clash
H Rohenkumar and H Malemnganba, both representing Bishnupur will fight it out for the boys' U-17 singles final as they outlasted Imphal West's Ronald RK 22-20, 21-13 and Imphal East's Matic Rohe 21-19, 21-14 respectively in the semi-final matches staged today.
