Covid claims one more, 31 test positive

IMPHAL, Dec 4: The Covid-19 pandemic claimed one more life in the State during the last 24 hours, pushing the death toll 1981.
As per a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the deceased belonging to Imphal East district had co-morbidities but was fully vaccinated.
On the other hand, 31 persons were confirmed positive at RIMS (6), JNIMS (2) and other testing centres (23) out of 1,566 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours which puts  the daily positivity rate at 2  per cent.
The fresh Covid-19 positive cases belong to Imphal East (10), Imphal West (15), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (3) and Senapati (1).
Kakching recorded the highest positivity rate at 7.3 per cent followed by Imphal East 4.3 per cent and imphal West 3.4 per cent.
Following recovery, 34 Covid-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (1), JNIMS (3) and CCCs (30).
The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases in the State has reached 1,25,328 (general population 1,20,897 and Central security personnel 4,431). This figure includes 362 active cases (general population 316 and Central security personnel 46) and 1,22,985 recovered cases (general population 1,18,605 and Central security personnel 4,380).
The recovery rate stands at 98.13 per cent, according to a bulletin issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.  A total of 493 D-type oxygen cylinders and 147 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
Taking into 8913 doses administered yesterday, the cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 21,84,835 (first dose 12,88,338 and second dose 8,96,497. Till December 3, 65.45 per cent of the State’s total population has been administered the first dose of Covid vaccine while 45.54 per cent had been given both the first and second doses.
