Monthly pension distributed to PwDs

IMPHAL, Dec 5: As a part of International Day of Disabled Persons observation, monthly pensions were distributed to 137 differently abled persons today at a simple function held at Singjamei Chingamakha Kshetri Leikai.
The pension distribution programme was organised by All Manipur Disabled and Handicapped Persons Development Agency.
Speaking on the occasion, the intending candidate from Singjamei AC in the upcoming State Legislative Assembly election, Oinam Romen expressed discontent that the previous representatives from the constituency have not taken up any welfare measures for the differently abled persons till date.
He also stated that the differently abled persons are highly skilled and have unique inborn talents therefore it is high time that they should be given a special place in the society.
O Romen also cautioned the people against those intending candidates who are trying to gain votes through unfair means in Singjamei AC as they will do no good in the long run.
