Rural camp organised at Daili village

The seven days long Rural camp organised by Department of Social Work, BSW 5th semester, Don Bosco College (Autonomous) Maram with the theme, "Embracing the diverse culture" at Daili village concluded on Sunday.
The camp had 35 campers accompanied by HoD, LokhoAthishu and Assistant Professor Vanilla Veronica of the BSW Department.
The Rural camp began on November 29 with hoisting of the flag by village chief, H Stephen Kohusii.
Stephen Kohusii also gave his blessing for the success of the camp and wished the campers a successful future.
Throughout the camp the campers conducted different activities including cleanliness drive, visit to Orange farm at T Khullen and Molnom village, field work day, Socio-Economic status survey, visitation to Agape Children’s home, Exposure day and Participatory Rural Appraisal.
The cleanliness drive was carried out in association with village youth along the National Highway and nearby villages. Tree saplings were planted and dustbins were installed throughout the village.
During the camp, the campers conducted labour work to experience field work activities of rural life, visited waterfall as part of  exposure activity, organised PRA (participatory rural appraisal) in the village, etc.
Apart from day activities, the campers also had recreation time at night by conducting various activities like singing and dancing competition, comedy night, cultural night and bon-fire.
Moreover, a valedictory programme was also held on Sunday wherein Rev Fr Roy MD, chief guest of the programme de-hoisted the flag.
