'International Day of Persons with Disabilities' observed

CHD/KAK/KPI, Dec 4: As observed across the world, 'International Day of Persons with Disabilities' was also celebrated in the State on Friday with the theme “Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities toward an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post- COVID- 19 world”.
CHANDEL
'International Day of Persons with Disabilities' was observed at DC Office Complex Chandel D-Block on Friday by the District Social Welfare Office, Chandel in association with the District Administration Chandel and SVEEP Chandel District.
The programme organised as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav campaign was attended by Deputy Commissioner Chandel, Mayanglambam Rajkumar and District Social Welfare Officer Chandel, Khumujam Tennison among others.
KAKCHING
Differently Abled Person's Welfare Association (DAPWA) Kakching in association with District Social Welfare Officer Kakching also celebrated 'International Day of Persons with Disabilities' at the Auditorium of Library and Information Centre, Kakching Phousupat Leikai.
It was attended by Bhubon and Leiren Brick Field Kakching, proprietor Naorem Nopur Singh; Senior Advocate, National Awardee Nongmaithem Madhu Singh; retired Chief Medical Officer, Dr Nongmaithem Nabakishore Singh and Kha Manipur College Kakching, Chemistry HoD, Associate Professor Naorem Chaoba Singh as presidium members.
Similarly, District Social Welfare Officer Kakching and Social Disable’s Empowerment Action and Reaction Manipur, Langmeidong also observed 'International Day of Persons with Disabilities' at Langmeidong Maning Mayai Leikai.
District Social Welfare Officer Kakching, Arambam Kameshwar; Langmeidong Gram Panchayat Ward member, Laiphrakpam Ibocha; Mayeng Lamjao Gram Panchayat pradhan, Urikhinbam Narjit and District Social Welfare Office Kakching, Office Assistant, Sh Bisharup Sharma attended the programme as presidium members.
KANGPOKPI
'International Day of Persons with Disabilities' was also observed in Kangpokpi district by District Social Welfare Office, Kangpokpi in association with Mangwa School for Handicapped, Charhazare.
During the programme, DSO Kangpokpi, S Santosh Kumar and ZEO Kangpokpi, Lhingneikim Kipgen interacted with the specially abled children of Mangwa School.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Lhingneichong, secretary Mangwa School for Handicapped.
