IMPHAL, Dec 5 : The Committee on Fact Finding of Indo-Myanmar Border Issue has stated that they would furnish a white paper on the Indo-Myanmar border issue to take the matter to the higher authority.
Speaking to media persons during a one day discourse on "Formation of road map and solution of Indo-Myanmar border issue" at JN Manipuri Dance Academy, United Committee Manipur (UCM) presi- dent Joychandra Konthou-jam stated  that the Union Minister of State for External Affairs Dr RK Ranjan had assured of verifying the controversial border pillars by October last but the same was not actualised.
It was Dr Ranjan who stated on the floor of the Lok Sabha in 2019 that Manipur lost 2201 sq kms of its territory, Joychandra recalled and urged the Union MoS to deliver his assurance before the 12th State Legislative Assembly elections.
He also asked if there is any agenda  for not verifying the border pillars till date.
Urging the Government to explain why no concrete actions have been taken up to solve the border issue till date, Joychandra appealed to the State Government to convene a Cabinet meeting to discuss the vexed issue and send its resolutions to the Prime Minister, the Union Home Minister and the Minister of External Affairs.
If the Centre doesn't pay heed to the issue, then the matter should be discussed at the Assembly and take a strong resolution to save the State's territory, he added.
The programme was organised by UCM.
