State Thang-Ta C'ship Thang-Ta Maheikol lead tally with 12 gold medals

IMPHAL, Feb 10 : Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom are leading the medal tally in the 31st State Thang-Ta Championship-2021 with 12 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze medals as the championship organised by Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association, Manipur entered fourth day.
PAHULASI, Mayai Koibi with 8 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals are second so far while ANJIKA, Sangaiprou are third on 5 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals.
The fourth day of the championship saw sub-junior boys competing in phunaba anisuba events.
M Beninson of Thoibi Thang-Ta and Cultural Association, Moirang clinched the U-21 kg event title beating Phim of Ukhrul District Thang-Ta Association in the final. K Punsiremba finished third in this competition to settle for the bronze medal.
Winning gold medals in other weight categories for the same age group today are Rionel Hijam of Ibudhou Korouhanba Thang-Ta Cultural Association (U-25 kg), Louis Ningthoujam of Layingthou Kangba Thang-Ta Shindamsang (U-29 kg), H Yangba Singh of Ibudhou Korouhanba Thang-Ta Cultural Association (U-33 kg), N Rajesh Singh of Kanglei Thang-Ta Sindam Sang (U-37), T Shrinibasha Singh of KMTA (U-41 kg), Th Shirnibash Singh of Thang Ta Maheikol (U-45 kg), S Nongyai Meitei of Thoubal District Thang-Ta Association (U-53 kg) and Y Punananda Singh of ANJIKA (+53 kg).
