State Open Cash Prize Tennis C'ship G Abha clinches U-12 girls singles title, Dhanaraj wins U-12 boys

IMPHAL, Feb 12 : G Abha clinched the title of U-12 girls singles category of the 40th State Open Cash Prize Tennis Championship-2021 underway at the Officers' Club Tennis Complex, Lamphelpat by defeating  Angelica in straight sets 4-0, 4-1.
Meanwhile, the title of U-12 boys singles went to Dhanaraj as he defeated Soham K 4-1, 2-4, 4-1 in the final match.
T Rajiv will square off against Karanajit in the U-14 boys singles finals as they both beat their opponents in the semifinals played today.
T Rajiv outplayed Dhanaraj in straight sets 4-0, 4-1 and Karnajit downed Joshua  4-0,4-1.
Ashwajit entered the semifinals of the men's singles as he thrashed Y Azad Khan 6-1, 6-1, today.
In other men's singles matches played today, Bhicky S sealed a 7-6 (7-5) win over Luching and Joshua Pamei registered a convincing straight sets 6-3, 6-3 win over Becker.
In men's double, Ribhasker and Bhicky S beat Paras and Praksah 6-0, 6-2; Ashwajit and Shanker got a walkover win against Y Leelengee and Birchandra; Indrakumar and Ravi pounded down Luching and Derek 6-3, 4-6, 10-2 and Joshua Pamei and Becker overwhelmed Domson and Ch Pritam 7-5, 6-2.
On the other hand, a duo of Ranjan and Ibohal thumped T Pamei and H Ibotombi 6-4, 7-5; Khelen and Jayenta beat M Matum and Shananka (walkover) and Manikanta  and Sanatomba defeated Iboton and Rakesh 7-5, 6-3 in men's 45+ doubles.
In the men's 55+ singles, M Pradip upset L Sharat 5-7, 6-4, 11-9.
