ESU sail into semis of Shaheed Manoranjan Memorial Football

IMPHAL, Feb 20 : ESU, Wangkhei edged out KLASA, Keinou 3-1 to book the last semi-final ticket of the 11th Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial CRPF Football Tournament 2020-21 organised by 143 Bn CRPF at SAI ground, Takyel.
Naoba scored twice in this entertaining quarter final encounter to help ESU earn a place in the semi-finals.
KLASA were 1-0 ahead till the first-half thanks to 15th minute strike by Gaipuilan but ESU made a strong comeback in the second half to stun the Keinou side 3-1 as Naoba helped closed the gap in the 70th minute before Rajdhan overturn the lead in the 78 minute. Naoba then hit the final nail deep into the stoppage time (90'+5').
ESU will lock horns with Classic Football Academy in the second semi-final match on February 23 from 1.30 pm. WAFA will take on SSU, in the first semi-final match of the tournament on February 22 from 1.30 pm.
