Al-Ameen crush THAU by 142 runs in MNCA Elite tournament

IMPHAL, Feb 21 : Al-Ameen, Lilong rode on half centuries by Md Basir Rahman (57), Md Noushad Ali (59) and Nawaz (58) to secure a huge 142 run victory against THAU, Thangmeiband in a Group A encounter of the 5th MNCA Elite Tournament today.
Winning the toss Al-Ameen opted to bat first and posted a huge total of 218 runs for 4 in the stipulated 40 overs en route to their first win of the tournament.
THAU did well to exert pressure as Rabikanta Sharma picked up two wickets including Basir and Nawaz but bundled out on 76 in 26 overs as Basir Rahman (3/24 in 8 overs) and Md Noushad Ali (3/10 in 5 overs), Nongjaimayum Nasir Shah (2/24) and Nawaz (2/9) wreaked havoc across their batting line up.
With 20 runs in his name, Rohen Singh was the top scorer of THAU in the chase.
Nousad Ali with 59 runs and 3 wickets in his name eventually bagged the man of the match accolade.
YWC, Langthabal will play TRAU in a Group B league match tomorrow.
