WYC ease into MNCA Plate tourney quarter finals

IMPHAL, Feb 21 : WYC notched up their 5th Group C win by thrashing RRCC, Churachandpur by 9 wickets at Langthabal Public Ground today to make themselves into the quarter finals of the ongoing 5th MNCA plate tournament.
RRCC elected to bat first after winning the toss and gathered 99 runs for all wickets down in 25 overs before WYC cruised to the target at the cost of 1 wicket in 11.5 overs.
Laksmon of WYC shone with a three wicket haul early on in RRCC's innings including the wicket of Haojalen Kipgen who topscored with 37 runs and Roshankumar added teeth to the attack by removing M Rameshwor and Khaiminlal.
Latter, S Shangkar and Laishram Rajesh demolished the line up sharing another two wicket each.
In the chase, Sougrakpam Shangkar blazed off 47 in 25 balls before Wangkhem Samungou (21) and S Herokumar (18) finished off the chase and handed RRCC the 5th straight defeat in the tournament .
S Shangkar was eventually named man of the match.
KSDO, Kiyamgei with four wins in stage matches too qualified for the quarter finals as runners up from the same group.
