Shaheed Manoranjan Memorial Football Nanao double fires SSU into final

IMPHAL, Feb 22 : A brace by A Nanao earned SSU, Singjamei the final berth in the 11th Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial State Level Open Football Tournament today at SAI ground, Takyel.
Nanao's brace (4', 31') within the first half were more than enough for SSU to see off WAFA 2-0 in the first semi-final match which was otherwise a bit aggressive encounter.
Although SSU were more clinical in converting chances, WAFA were seen pressing hard SSU by creating more scoring chances often. Their lack of luck and finishing touches however held them back and had to see SSU reach home 2-0. S Chittraranjan (30'), N Kabiraj (37'), Th Shushilkumar (56') and Y Shushilkumar (83') of SSU all picked up a yellow card each as Peter of WAFA had the same fate in the 76th minute.
Classic Football Academy and ESU will fight it out for the last final berth tomorrow from 1.30 pm at the same venue.
