8th State Level Sub-Jr Hockey C'ship MEIRAA rout Hockey Thoubal 8-0 in men's opener

IMPHAL, Feb 22 : MEIRAA, Bashikhong kicked off their Pool (A) campaign in of the  8th State Level Sub-Junior Men's & Women's Hockey Championship organised by Manipur Hockey with a 8-0 thrashing of Hockey Thoubal today at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium.
MEIRA dominated the game right from the beginning and were 5-0 till halfway before adding three more goals in the 3rd quarter to make it 8-0 at the end.
In another Pool-A clash, YCCIC, Ahallup were held to a 3-3 draw by AJSA, Jiribam. Ch Thoiba who broke the deadlock early in the 7th minute went on to score two more in the 35th and the 55th minutes to help AJSA salvage a draw while T Denik (20th and 28th minutes) and B Basu Sharma (50th minute) scored it for the Ahallup side.
Meanwhile in a Pool-A match of the women's competition, MEIRA sealed a 2-0 win against Hockey Thoubal courtesy strikes by A Purnima (25') and N Kamala (48').
Later in a Pool B encounter, TWC, Taobungkhok sealed a narrow 1-0 win against AJSA, Jiribam via Ch Yurina goal in the 33rd minute.

Men's : Hockey Thoubal vs KHSC at 8 am; MEIRAA vs YCCIC at 3 pm
Women's : Hockey Thoubal vs SYUC at 9.30 am; MEIRAA vs YCCIC at 1.30 pm.
