Active cases drop to 36

IMPHAL, Feb 23: Amid rising second wave of COVID-19 in some States, the number of active cases in Manipur has further reduced to 36 as 16 people recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.
The number of fresh infections also remained low with only 3 people testing positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
1,588 frontline workers were vaccinated today taking the cumulative number of people vaccinated to 41,706 including 29,616 healthcare workers.
The total number of Covid positive cases has reached 29,243 while the number of recovered cases has touched 28,834 with a recovery rate of 98.60 percent.
With zero deaths due to Covid in the last 24 hours, the death toll remains at 373, said a report of the Government COVID-19 Common Control Room issued by Additional Director (Health), Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
Meanwhile, the fresh cases of COVID-19 were detected at Shija Hospital (2) and Asian Hospital (1). The three, all male civilians, hail from Imphal West (2) and Chandel (1). All precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, said the report.
On the other hand, the 16 people who have recovered from COVID-19 include 15 who were under home isolation. The remaining one person has been discharged from COVID-19 Care Centre opened at RD Wing, added the report.
The cumulative number of Covid positive cases is 29,243 including 25,811 civilians and 3,432 Central; security personnel.
The cumulative number of recovered cases is 28,834 including 25,417 civilians and 3,417 central security personnel.
The number of active cases is 36 including 25 civilians and 11 Central security personnel, said the report.
