MNCA Elite Tournament : Blue Hawk beat SCCC by 3 wickets

IMPHAL, Feb 23 : Blue Hawk, Khurai beat SCCC, Singjmei by 3 wickets today for the third win in four group stage matches (Group A) of the 5th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament being conducted by Manipur Cricket Association at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
With the win, the Khurai team are third on 6 points in the Group A standings while CHAMP, Khagempalli and FORCE, Kshetrigao are first and second on the same 6 points from three matches respectively.
Sangai CCC after electing to bat first bundled out on 118 runs in 33.2 overs (40 over) and Blue Hawk eclipsed the total with 120 runs for 7 in 32.3 overs.
W Samson of Blue Hawk was clinical in his bowling and picked up three wickets to help restrict SCCC to 118 runs.
Rohit (25 not out) was the highest run getter for SCCC in their innings which also saw Romario and Ozzy of Blue Hawk sharing two wickets each.
Samson then took command of the Blue Hawk chase and hit the highest before Poirei scored 21 and remained not out to steer his team to the narrow win.
Sandeep Chakraborty of SCCC enjoyed a four wicket haul in this innings but in a losing cause.
Samson who shone with both the bat and the ball was adjudged man of the match.
Model Club Chingamakha will play REYS, Nagamapal in a Group B league match tomorrow at the same venue.
