1st AMFA Cup LYCC thump AMOFA 5-2 as RAU hold TRUGPU

IMPHAL, Feb 23 : LYCC, Chandel romped past AMOFA, Moirang 5-2 as RAU, Lairikyengbam Leikai held TRUGPU, Nambol to a 2-2 draw in today's matches of the 1st AMFA Cup which being underway at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.
In the 12th match of the tournament staged today, LYCC dominated the game thoroughly from the beginning and were able to finish big riding on Alex Lamkang's double.
Alex Lamkang opened up the scoring early in the second minute before AMOFA level the score in the 29th minute of the match.
The parity did not last long as SK Damme helped LYCC enter the break with a 2-1 lead with his goal during the additional time (45'+1').
AMOFA did manage to draw level in the 62nd minute but Alex Lamkang completed his double to close the gap. LYCC then took full control of the game and went home 5-2 off two back to back goals by Ng Beedenpar (77') and Dilbung Renghong (78').
The second match of the day turned out to be an evenly matched game as RAU and TRUGPU played out a 1-1 draw till the break before finishing the game 2-2.
K Panmei was able to put TRUGPU ahead in the 7th minute but Ng Jiten helped RAU cancel out the lead in the 19th minute.
Though the two sides were unable to add more till the break, Sanjoy scored in the 69th minute to help TRUGPU retain the lead. TRUGPU almost earned all three points but a stoppage time goal by Zimik (90'+10') for RAU forced the two sides to share the spoils.
