1st AMFA Cup : WAFA seal 2-0 win over KYVO, NESU hold LYGSEDA

Imphal, Feb 24 : WAFA, Wangoi eased to a 2-0 win against KYVO, Kwasiphai in a GroupA league match of the ongoing 1st AMFA Cup at Artficial Turf, Khurai Lamlong as NESU, Khurai played out a 2-2 draw with LYGSEDA in another Group A league match of the day.
In the first match of the day, WAFA had a slender 1-0 lead till the break through Peter's goal in the 39th minute before E Joykison made his effort count in the 72nd minute to hand WAFA a 2-0 win against lacklustre KYVO.
The second match on the other hand emerged a close contest with both NESU and LYGSEDA sharing a fair share of possession and scoring chances before settling the game in a 2-2 draw.
Though the first half went barren, the two teams were more purposeful in the second half and it was in the 63rd minute that Y Sobha broke the deadlock to put NESU ahead.
The lead however did not last long as Paolenlal pulled off the equaliser for LYGSEDA in the 68th minute. Seiminthang then scored another five minutes later to hand LYGSEDA the lead but S Bikas cancelled out the lead in the 83rd minute to ensure that NESU came on level terms.
The match eventually ended with the score level at 2-2 despite late efforts from both the ends.
