11 more absent teachers suspended

IMPHAL, Feb 24 (DIPR)
Eleven more Government school teachers have been placed under suspension for not attending school. Orders in this regard were issued by the Directorate of Education(S) today. The suspended teachers include nine from Lamlong Higher Secondary School and two from Khonghampat High School.
The 9 teachers of Lamlong Higher Secondary School were found absent when a surprise visit was conducted at the school by the Ministerial team yesterday while the other 2 teachers were found absent today at Khonghampat Government High School.
Continuing the surprise visits to schools today, Education Minister S Rajen Singh paid visits to Khonghampat Government High School, Heibongpokpi Government High School and Khurkhul High School.
While checking the attendance register of the teachers at Khonghampat Government High School today, the two teachers were found absent. Rajen also inspected the infrastructure of those schools.
He stated that the surprise visit will continue and cover schools in all districts.  He also appealed to all school staff to be dutiful and sincere in their service at this juncture since Board and Council examinations are knocking at the door. He urged the teachers to work in the interest of the student community.
