8th SHDVSM 2021: SAV, JSAV, TLV victorious

KANGPOKPI, Feb 23: Saitu Area Veteran (SAV) opened its winning account in the ongoing 8th Sadar Hills District Veteran Sport Meet 2021 at Brig M. Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi DHQs today.
Despite late surge from their rivals, SAV managed to win 3-2 over Kalapahar Area Veteran team.
Kalapahar Area Veteran led the game by two early goals Rajen found the net in the 2th minute before Shiv Kumar added the second in the 6th minute. Saitu Area Veteran however managed to pull back a goal in the 27th minute through Henminthang to make it 2-1 till the break.
SAV made a brilliant comeback scoring the equalizer in the 60th minute through David before Tony found the winning goal in the 73rd minute.
In the second match, J Songtun Area Veteran had an easy 4-0 win over Twilongkun Area Veteran thanks to goals by Helun (21'), Hemin (57', 63') and Tonglet (72').
The third match witnessed a walkover win in favour of Tujang Lhang Veteran (A) team as their opponents VSAC Churachandpur failed to turn up.
Tomorrow, IB Area Veteran will play Kanggui Veteran in the first match and Leikot Area Veteran will play Phaijang Veteran in the second match.
Leimakhong Area Veteran will play Motbung Veteran later in the third match.
