AMGSU visits Moreh under Ghar Ghar Niranjan

MOREH , Feb 24: The All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union under its Ghar Ghar Niranjan initiative visited Moreh yesterday to spread awareness on the rich culture and history of Manipur Gorkhas.
The 9th friendly football match under the Ghar Ghar Niranjan initiative between AMGSU Central Committee and AMGSU Moreh was also organized during the tour at Eastern Shine School Ground in Moreh.
The friendly match was won by AMGSU Central Committee by 4-0 where LB Adhikari, Rajen Thapa, Indra Bahadur Chhetri and Puran Katwal scored one goal each against AMGSU Moreh unit team.
Puran Katwal from AMGSU Central Committee and Khin KC from AMGSU Moreh unit were awarded best player of the friendly match.
The football match was also followed by a prize distribution ceremony of the 3rd Gorkha Premier League (Cricket), jointly organized by Moreh Gorkha Samaj, Moreh Gorkha Youth Club and AMGSU Moreh unit at Gorkha community hall, Moreh Nepali basti.
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Durga Sharma, president Moreh Gorkha Samaj, LB Adhikari, president AMGSU, L Dhiren Singh, social worker, Dr L Sobita Devi and other members of AMGSU Central Committee and Moreh unit.
Tunia Verma Cricket Team defeated Raghav Cricket Team by 8 wickets in the final match of the 3rd Gorkha Premier League, where five team participated in the event held from February 17-22.
AMGSU conveyed heartfelt gratitude to Moreh Gorkha Samaj, Moreh Gorkha Youth Club, AMGSU Moreh unit, L Dhiren Singh, Dr L Sobita Devi and the Gorkha people of Moreh especially the youth for keeping the spirit of games and sports as part of their activities.
AMGSU will continue touring other AMGSU units to spread the rich culture and history of the Gorkhas in the state, it added.
