IMPHAL, Feb 25: Shiv Sena has been planning to field a fair number of candidates in the next State Assembly election which is due in early 2022, according to the party’s National organiser and North East observer Dilip Panicker.
Five individuals who joined the party recently were accorded a warm reception at the party’s Babupara office today.
Speaking at the gathering, Dilip Panicker said that  necessary measures would be initiated in consultation with the party’s National leaders so as to ensure that a good number of Shiv Sena candidates emerge victorious in the next Manipur State Assembly election.
He said that his main objective of visiting the State was to strengthen and expand the party.
Expressing concern over lack of industries which can provide jobs to youth, Dilip Panicker said that Shiv Sena would make all efforts to ensure that maximum number of Manipuri youth are absorbed in the Indian Railways as and when the Manipur railway project is completed.
Shiv Sena State unit president M Tombi decried the continuous hike in petrol and diesel prices in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He then appealed to the Government to reduce the fuel prices even marginally.
He also urged the Government to amend the MLR&LR Act 1960 so that a uniform norm is applied in both the hills and the valley.
