IMPHAL, Feb 28 : Conti-nuing his philanthropic endeavour, intending General Assembly candidate and owner of The Sangai Express, Nishikant Singh Sapam gifted water storage tanks to 64 households of 42 Leikais (localities) today.
Nishikant distributed the water storage tanks at a function organised by Teng-bang Marup, Keishamthong at Moirangpurel community hall, Kwakeithel. The 64 households received one 500 litre capacity water storage tank each.
L Chaoba, of Kei-shamthong Longjam Leirak, who attended the event as a presidium member lauded Nishikant for his humanitarian work and prayed to Almighty for success in his endeavours.
Stating Nishikant is working towards bringing positive changes and development in Keishamthong Assembly Constituency, he appealed to the people to support him in his endeavours and help him help others.
At the event, Nishikant said he joined politics with a mission to face corruption, bring positive changes and bring equal opportunity to all. “One of my top priorities is to improve the living standard of the people,” said Nishikant.
He also extended a sum of Rs 30,000 as encouragement to Khomdram Menaka Devi, daughter of (Late) Kh Shyamkishor Singh and L Shantibala Devi of Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai. She stood third position in the last Class XII (Arts) examination.
