IMPHAL, Feb 28 : Despite hailing the assurance of Education Minister to adopt the UGC Regulations and to implement the 7th UGC Pay, the Federation of Government College Teachers' Association (FEGOCTA) has asserted that it will not call off the cease work strike.
In a  statement issued today FEGOCTA said that the Government order of February 25 was vague, incomplete and contradictory and added that the order also does not mention time and mode of payment of arrears from April 4, 2019 and no mention of 7th UGC pay on the lines of ROP, 2019.
FEGOCTA also reiterated its demands for adoption of UGC Regulations without modification or relaxation with its effective date of implementation  from the date of issue of order; date of implementation of 7th UGC Pay on the lines of ROP, 2019 notionally from January 1, 2016, arrear payment from April 1, 2019 and actual cash payment from April 2020 along with all admissible allowances.
The All Manipur College Teachers' Association (AMCTA) has also said that they will continue the cease work strike until all their demands are met in toto.
In a statement AMCTA said that the order issued by the Government failed to reflect the demands of the college teachers and it is unacceptable and hence the cease work strike will continue till the demands are met.
All activities related to college students' union election are relaxed, added the two bodies.
