Drugs seized

IMPHAL, Feb 28 : A combined team of 26 Assam Rifles F Coy Somrei Post and Kamjong district police team under the leadership of Additional SP Semmi Ramror; Inspector Dependson A Shimray, OC KKL PS; SI L Premkumar Singh, KKL PS; H/C, S Somarendro Singh and PC, Md Hanif Khan of Somrei police outpost under the overall supervision of Ningam Siro, MPS, SP Kamjong district, conducted a search operation on February 26 at the eastern hill side of T Natyang village and recovered 87.4 kg of suspected brown sugar, 26.5 litre of suspected Morphinated liquid and one wooden pressing board, said police.
Later, the seized items were handed over to Kasom Khullen police station for further legal action.
Assam Rifles troops in Churachandpur intercepted 310 grams of heroin worth about Rs 1.24 crore, being transported illegally today, reports our correspondent.
