Nagaland to join launching programme of India's 75 years of Independence

DIMAPUR, Mar 10: Along with the rest of the country, Nagaland will also be holding programmes and events launching the celebration of India’s 75 years of Independence- ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ on  March 12 in a befitting manner.
The Commemoration of 75 years of India's Freedom –Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav) will be launched on March 12 by the Prime Minister of India from Gujarat. The celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ would commence 75 weeks prior to the Independence Day 2022 on March 12, 2021, and will extend up to the Independence Day 2023. The event ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ will unfold in all the states and union territories and will showcase India’s achievements of 75 years and  will also portray stories of the ‘lesser –known’ freedom fighters which will be publicized, and the contribution of different sections of society will be bought to the fore.
In Nagaland, there will be a march by over 150 volunteers drawn from NSS and NYK from High School Junction, Kohima to the Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima in the morning of March 12, 2021. The volunteers will be sporting caps, t-shirts and carrying banners with messages on ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ written on it. The March will culminate in the Naga Civil Secretariat Plaza where the volunteers will be joined by the school children. At the Naga Civil Secretariat Plaza there will be a function from 11:00 am onwards, which will have cultural programmes and song-and—dance displays on patriotic themes. The function will be graced by the Chief Minister, Nagaland as the Special Guest. A photo exhibition on the theme- ‘Celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence’ will also be organized by the Bureau of Outreach& Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
In addition to the above, all the schools in Nagaland will be organizing one-hour conferences/seminars/symposiums/talks/webinars/presentations by students on the topic ‘Events leading to India’s independence from British rule and roles of various freedom fighters in it’ including essay competition/creative writing competition on the topic ‘Analysis of India’s struggle for independence – different schools of freedom movement from 1857 to 1947’.
