Women and Junior Boy's State Level Polo Tournaments begin

IMPHAL, Mar 1 : The 16th Women State Level Polo Tournament and 4th Junior Boy's Under 16 State Level Polo Tournament 2020-21 organised by All Manipur Polo Association began today at AMFA Iroisemba Kangjeibung.
The women's tournament is participated by 4 teams while the Junior Boy's tournament is participated by 7 teams.
In the boy's opening match, LAAMAN Polo Club-A earned a 4-0 win against Heingang Ibudhou Marjing to book a place in the semi-finals.
A Kishan helped LAAMAN PC-A lead 1-0 till the first chukker before the second chukker witnessed a dull encounter. LAAMAN PC-A sprang up yet again in the third chukker and pumped in all the remaining three goals as M Tomthin scored twice and S Ranjan managed the other.
Meanwhile, in the women's competition, Chingkheihunba Polo Club won 5-2 over Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club to enter final which is scheduled to be held on March 7.
Thangmeiband Youth PC were 1-0 ahead of Chingkheihunba Polo Club but Th Tanna made it 2-1 in favour of the winning side till halfway with her double in the second chukker.
Jehblia extended the lead to 3-1 for Chingkheihunba in the third chukker before Neelu RK scored twice in the last chukker to make it 5-1.
Thangmeiband Youth PC managed another late in the last minute to make it 2-5 at the end.
