'Repair Pallel to Aimol Khullen road'

IMPHAL, Mar 2: The road starting from Pallel Bazar leading to Aimol Khullen is in a deplorable state since the authorities concerned have not taken up any measures to repair it despite repeated complaints by the locals.
Speaking to media persons during an inspection drive conducted today by Aimol Students Union Manipur (ASUM), its president S Khupmingthang Aimol said that black topping of the 6 kilometres long road was done under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) however the road has not been repaired over the past two years which has led to the present deplorable condition.
He continued that the culverts along the road were not constructed properly and is now prone to road accidents and the dust along the road poses hindrance for the school going students.
Therefore he urged the authorities concerned and the Chief Minister to repair the road under PMGSY at the earliest before the onset of monsoon season since the road is an important means of commute for locals of around 10 villages.
