Tujang Lhang Veteran finish pool C winners in 8th SHDVSM 2021

KANGPOKPI, Mar 1: Tujang Lhang Veteran edged past Kanggui Veteran 2-1 to finish Pool C winners in the last second league match of the ongoing 8th Sadar Hills District Veteran Sport Meet 2021 at Brig M Thomas Ground Kangpokpi. Kanggui Veteran despite losing the game emerged pool runners up.
Kanggui Veteran led the game 1-0 after James D Haokip found the opener  in the 46th minute but it was shortly equalized by Tujang Lhang Veteran through a brilliant strike in the 48th minute by Hencha who also struck the winning goal later in the 88th minute
It was Hencha's 7th goal, most goals by a player so far this season. With the win, Tujang Lhang Veteran earned a spot in the knockout round as Pool C winners  and despite the loss, Kanggui Veteran also earned a spot in the knockout round as pool C runners up.
Meanwhile the second match between Leikot Area Veteran and Motbung Veteran ended in a 1-1 draw giving Leikot Area Veteran a berth in the knockout round while Motbung Veteran's fate is now will be decided by the Leimakhong Area Veteran vs Phaijang Veteran  match to be held tomorrow.
Leikot Area Veteran were 1-0 ahead through Paolun goal  in the 40th minute but Douminthang of Motbung Veteran found the late equalizer when he converted a penalty kick in the 80th minute. Keithelmanbi Veteran, Liyai Kongpao Liyai Kalapahar Veteran, Tujang Lhang Veteran, Kanggui Veteran, Leikot Area Veteran and Saitu Area Veteran had already sealed knockout round berths till now.
Tomorrow, Leimakhong Area Veteran will play Phaijang Veteran in the first match while J Songtun Area Veteran will play Kalapahar Area Veteran in the second match.
