PHE Minister inspects development projects at Senapati

SENAPATI, Mar 2: Conducting physical inspection of all the ongoing  mega projects in Senapati district, PHE Minister Losii Dikho visited the work site at Senapati district headquarters Water Supply Scheme with a team of engineers from PHE Department. He also discussed & inspected the new NHIDCL Highway bypass proposed alignment at Karong bridge. He was accompanied by DC Kirankumar and other officials. Later the Minister rushed to Naga Taphou to inspect the Residential School & Hostel projects.
According to the Minister, the mega Karong water supply facility will be inaugurated within March to effectively deal the dry season water scarcity  issues. The approved cost of the Augmentation of Senapati district headquarters water supply scheme for promoting Tourism under NESIDs on turnkey basis is stated to be Rs 3584.53 lakh (admissible Central share-Rs 2994 lakh and State share-Rs 590.53 lakh).
S Lohrii Mao, EE, PHED, Senapati mentioned that the scheme will cover  59,763 heads by 2038.
Briefing media persons, PHE Minister L Dikho stated that treatment plant for Senapati district headquarters water supply scheme is almost completed.  The Minister regretted that the project could not be taken up effectively the previous year due to COVID-19 pandemic.
