Marathon held

IMPHAL, Mar 27 : The 1st Thongju Kendra Open Marathon was organised by the Thongju Kendra Tengbang Lup today under the theme “Fight against Immorality and Corruption”.
Altogether 80 boys and 30 girls participated in the 20 km marathon, which was flagged off from Ibudhou Puruksoubi Complex, Uchekon Takhok Mapal in Thongju Assembly Constituency.
Chief patron of Thongju Kendra Tengbang Lup, Seram Neken flagged off the marathon in the presence of TKTL president Oinam Romeo, Legal Advisor N Angothoiba and chairman of the organising committee Konsam Diraj Singh.
In the boys' category, Ningombam Pholendro bagged the first position and Amakcham Sanajaoba became the second position, while Ningombam Malemnganba stood third position.
In the girls' category, N Kamala became the winner, Ksh Diana bagged second position and L Linthoi finished third.
First position holders were given a cash prize of Rs 10,000 with citation each, second position holders were given Rs 7000 with citation, and third position holders were given Rs 5000/- with citation.
Boys and Girls who finished 4th to 10th positions were also given Rs 1000 each, and all other participants were given Rs 500 each.
The prize distribution ceremony was held at MEIRAA Ground Bashikhong .
