8 test positive

IMPHAL, Mar 2 : After registering a single positive case yesterday, eight new COVID-19 positive cases were detected today at JNIMS, RIMS, Imphal West, Escent Diagnostics and Raj Medicity.
A press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed that seven civilians and one personnel of CAPF have been found infected by the virus.
The infected civilians belong to Imphal West (5) and Imphal East (2).
The death toll remains unchanged at 373.
On the other hand, five COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (4) and Shija Hospital (1).
The cumulative number of positive cases is 29,282 (general population 25,848 and Central security personnel 3,434).
This figure includes 33 active cases (general population 32 and Central security personnel 1) and 28,876 recovered cases (general population 25,447 and Central security personnel 3,429).
Meanwhile, a total of 53,805 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the State so far and it includes 1385 people inoculated yesterday.
Of all the people who have been vaccinated so far, 29,898 are health care workers.
