Leimakhong Area, J Songtun Area reach SHDVSM knockout round

KANGPOKPI, Mar 2 : Leimakhong Area Veteran and J Songtun Area Veteran filled the remaining two vacant spots for the knockout round after defeating their respective opponents in the last league round matches of the 8th Sadar Hills District Veteran Sport Meet 2021 at Brig M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi DHQs.
Leimakhong Area Veteran landed a heavy blow upon Phaijang Veteran to end their league round campaign with an impressive 7-0 win. Seikhohen (2', 21', 27', 29'), Seitinthang (19'), Thangjalun (85') and Letminlal (90') scored for Leimakhong Area Veteran to finish Pool D runners up and secure a knock out round berth.
In the second match, Stallone's brilliant strike in the 50th minute gave J Songtun Area Veteran a narrow 1-0 win over Kalapahar Area Veteran.
With the win J Songtun Area Veteran became Pool B winners.
