Opium seized

IMPHAL, Apr 10: A team of Bishnupur district comman-do arrested a 23-year-old man along with five Kilo-grams of opium at Trong- laobi yesterday evening.
The arrested man has been identified as Mang-minthang Haokip of G Kho- nuam, Sangaikot, Chura-chandpur at present staying at Changlei Veng.
He was arrested while the commando team led by Subedar OC Y Shaktishen, conducted frisking and checking of his two wheeler moped at Tronglaobi near Moirang gate. The opium was found concealed inside a carry bag, said sources.
The arrested person and the seized items have been handed over to Moirang police station for further legal action under the ND&PS Act.
