KGC endorses

The Khurai Genial Club (KGC), Khurai Thangjam Leikai has endorsed the stir of Justice For Sanaton Athokpam.
In a statement today, the club said the death of the medical student should be investigated by registering an FIR at the earliest.
It reiterated the demand of the Justice For Sanaton Athokpam and said the Director of RIMS and the warden of the hostel where he was staying should be suspended for the duration of the investigation to avoid any influence and ensure an impartial probe.
The club also stressed that the authorities concerned and the Government should make known the postmortem report and other details of the death to the surviving family members and the JAC.
It may be noted that the justice for Sanatom Athokpam along with the public of Khurai have been staging bandh and sit-in protests since the death of the medical students.
Sanaton Athokpam, was a 5th Semester MBBS student at RIMS. He was found hanging with both hands tied inside his room at a RIMS hostel on March 15.
Even though the Government has ordered a magisterial enquiry into the case, according to the JAC, the police have not yet registered an FIR in the case. The cause of Sanaton’s death is also yet to be confirmed by the police.
