Agriculture Minister launches 'Tika Utsav' at CHC Wangoi

IMP/TBL/TNP , Apr 11: Minister of Agriculture, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry and Tourism, Oinam Lukhoi Singh today launched 'Tika Utsav' for COVID-19 mass vaccination at Community Health Centre, Wangoi in the presence of Medical Officer, CHC, Wangoi, Dr N Sushila Devi and staffs.
India will observe ‘Tika Utsav’ or vaccine festival across the country from April 11 to 14, 2021 with an aim to inoculate a maximum number of eligible people against the coronavirus.
The mass vaccination programme is being held following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to the chief ministers of all states and union territories during a meeting over the coronavirus situation.
The Tika Utsav is being seen as a special drive to vaccinate as many eligible people as possible.
Addressing the programme, Minister Lukhoi urged the people to come forward and get vaccinated during the mass vaccination at their nearest healthcare centres and to continue following the SOPs laid down by the Government to prevent from the 2nd wave of COVID-19.
Later, Minister Lukhoi also inspected the infrastructures and under construction facilities of the Community Health Centre, Wangoi.
Likewise, as a part of the nationwide observance of 'Tika Utsav', District Administration Tengnoupal and District Health Society Tengnoupal also organised a 'Nationwide special Covid vaccination' drive at Sub District Hospital Moreh today.
The inaugural function of the drive was attended by Dr Kh Gojen Singh, Chief Medical Officer Tengnoupal; L Brajendra Singh, SDC Moreh; Dr H Manoranjan, MO incharge Sub District Hospital Moreh; Dr Kh Santikumar, MO incharge PHC Moreh; CDPO Tengnoupal, Meba Maring and Machi Block CDPO, Mitabina.
'Tika Utsav' was also observed by District Administration Thoubal and District Health Society Thoubal at District Hospital Thoubal, Covid Vaccination Centre.
The observance of 'Tika Utsav' began with Thoubal Zilla Parishad, Adhyaksha, Hasina Begum receiving the first jab of the vaccine.
The programme was attended by Hasina Begum; Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, N Bandana Devi, IAS; ADM Thoubal, Lokeshwor Brahmacharimayum and ICDS Cell Thoubal, District Program Officer, T Anita Devi as presidium members.
