IMPHAL, Apr 12 : Al-Ameen defeated RCA in an all-Lilong clash for the fourth win in five matches and to finish atop of the league stage table in the Thoubal District T-20 Cricket Tournament organised by Thoubal District Cricket Association under the supervision of MNCA at Moijing playground.
Having secured three wins earlier in four matches, Al-Ameen had to struggle against RCA to secure a 9 run win today. They won the toss and posted a moderate total of 150 runs at the cost of 7 wickets riding on Bashid's 47-ball 67.
And relying on Nashir's prolific bowling performance (3/33), Al-Ameen restricted RCA to 141 for 7.
RCA's Saba Khan (2/23) played a crucial part hindering Al-Ameen from making a big total. His friends, Basanta (49) and Sharoz (39) batted well but their effort went in vain as Al-Ameen bowlers were clinical and were careful about conceding runs.
RCA's Ashalam and Basanta also picked up a wicket each in Al-Ameen's innings before Mustak, Bashir and Noushad of Al-Ameen chipped in with a wicket apiece.
League leaders Al-Ameen will play fourth placed LMCC, Mairenkhong in the first semi-final match tomorrow at 10.30 am.
WYC, Wangkhem which finished league runners up will play third placed RCA, Lilong in the last semi-final match on April 14.
