IMPHAL, Apr 12 : The Demand Committee on Creation of Autonomous District Councils (DCCADCs) has urged the State Government  not to bow down to the diktats of some  'vested' organisations which have been depriving the legal rights of the four hill new districts-Pherzawl, Kamjong, Noney and Tengnoupal.
In a statement, the DCCADCs also appealed to the United Naga Council (UNC) not to block and sabotage the development policy of the State Government.
Claiming that the 3rd Naga People' Convention declared the ADCs election of 2010 as null and void and objected to the functioning of District Councils in Naga areas, the committee alleged that the Naga apex organisation is now singing a different tune contradictory to its own declaration.
Asking how can a people trust in the organisation which bends at the hand of some politicians or individuals to draw political mileage, the DCCADCs added that the apex social organisation of Naga should  always press for no ADC elections if they stand by its words and deeds.
"We feel pity on the part of such Naga apex organisation of Manipur which is formed to defend land, identity, history and political rights of Nagas but is now embroiled in the electoral politics of the State," the DCCADCs said.
The statement also asked why a Naga frontal organisation like ANSAM is supporting the early elections of only 6 ADCs of the State when the 3rd Naga People' Convention declared the ADCs election of 2010 as null and void.
The DCCADCs also reminded that the matter of roll back of the newly created hill districts  was already settled  by the High Court of Manipur in 2017.
