KSO Phailengmol Island Block's Sports Meet begins

IMPHAL, Apr 12 : The fifth edition of Kuki Students' Organisation Phailengmol Island Block Sports Meet 2021 begins at Saichang Village in Kangpokpi district today.
The inaugural function of the sports meet was attended by Yamthong Haokip, MLA Saikul AC; Mohan, contractor and Paojamang Haokip, Chief of Monglham as presidium members.
Speaking as the chief guest of the function, Yamthong stressed on the importance of peaceful coexistence among different communities in ushering an inclusive and overall development.
And sporting events help develop the sense of unity and healthy competition, the MLA continued.
About thirty teams will be vying for top honours in the men's football, men's volleyball and women's volleyball events in the sports meet which will run for two weeks.
The opening football match was played between L Songphel Sporting Club (LSSC) and Houkhong Area Vaiphei Youth Sporting Association (HAVYSA).
