NESO condemns human rights violation in Myanmar

North East Students' Organisation (NESO) conducted an online meeting to discuss the present situation in Myanmar especially the plight of the affected people seeking shelter in the North Eastern States on April 9.
NESO is the joint body comprising of Khasi Students' Union (KSU); All Assam Students' Union (AASU); Naga Students' Federation (NSF); Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP); Twipra Students' Federation (TSF); All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU); Garo Students' Union (GSU) and All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU).
Due to the ongoing conflict in Myanmar where widespread human rights violation has happened has forced the citizens of the country to flee the nation and seek shelter and escape the military operations across the international border, said a statement issued by NESO.
NESO expressed shock and grief at the heavy loss of lives in the ongoing  protest against military coup and for restoration of democracy in the country. NESO also condemned the inhumane atrocities committed by Myanmar military against the pro-democracy protester and urged the Government of India to work towards restoring democracy and peace in the neighbouring country.
NESO also urged the Indian Government to allow setting up of proper facilities to cater to the Myanmar nationals fleeing the country, added the statement.
