No salary for colleges failing to score minimum credit point of NAAC: Rajen

Imphal, Apr 12 (DIPR) : Education Minister S Rajen Singh has said that colleges in the State should work to get minimum credit score of 2.5 of National Assessment and Accreditation Council, NAAC and cautioned that the salaries for the staffs of those colleges failing to score the point may be held up.
The Department of Education (U) will issue a notice in this regard, he added.
Rajen was speaking as a chief guest at the closing function of the DM College Week Celebration, 2021.
He said that education is one of the most important sectors of the society which needs to be prioritised.
Maintaining that the National Education Policy, NEP, 2020 was introduced to improve the education sector of the country, the Minister  added that a State level taskforce has also been constituted for successful implementation of the policy in the State.
On the occasion, Principal of DM College of Science, Dr M Bhumeshwari Devi said that the staff and teachers of the college are working to get the credit score of NAAC at the maximum.
She said that the college is lacking in many areas which need immediate attention from the Government.
The Minister also distributed certificates and trophies to those meritorious students of the college who have shown their outstanding performances during the College Week celebration.
Rajen also inaugurated a one day sensitisation programme on National Education Policy at United College Chandel.
