Mukna held as State celebrates Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba

IMPHAL, Apr 13 : To celebrate Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba and with a view of promote Mukna, one of Manipur's indigenous game, Youth Talent Academy today organised "1st Shajibu Kumhei Thouram" at Awang Khunou.
As a part of the programme, a Mukna competition was held wherein two teams (paanas) representing Awang Khunou Khunthak and Khunkha competed for top honours.
Speaking about the programme, co-ordinator of the academy, Chandramani said that the festival or the programme was organised with a view of promoting State's indigenous games which are losing its former glory over time.
Manipur, which was once a kingdom, has its own rich culture, tradition, language and games, he said while adding that Polo is among the State's indigenous game that has earned international recognition and followed by many countries.
Khunkha Paana were crowned the champions of the Mukna competition.
